Mouse Data Research Partner Program
A standing programme of collaborations with selected laboratories. We place Mouse Data systems in real research environments — sometimes to validate them, sometimes to build them — and the laboratory keeps a permanent place in the network afterwards.

The programme

Each call is tied to one Mouse Data device and one kind of collaboration. Terms vary; the principles do not.

We also invite groups we would like to work with, but every application is reviewed against the same criteria. Selection is never automatic.

Once a collaboration ends, the laboratory remains part of the Research Partner network — with early access, and first notice of every call that follows.
Calls
Face Analyzer · Validation track
The first four laboratories to run the Face Analyzer outside Mouse Data.
PhenoScreener · Development track
Laboratories that will help us build the PhenoScreener, contributing recorded data and hands-on iteration.
Announced to the network first
Future calls will include validation cohorts for the PhenoScreener and development cohorts for new generations of the Face Analyzer.

Full hardware and software access at no cost for the whole collaboration.
Capacity covering the scope of the agreed Research Partnership Plan.

Each call sets out what it asks of the laboratory and what happens when the collaboration ends.
The network
Membership does not end with the collaboration. Laboratories that have been Research Partners stay in the network permanently — and the network is where a good part of the value is.
One day a year, partners present what they have done with the technology and tell us what to build next. Every laboratory in the network is invited; travel and attendance are covered for one researcher per laboratory in an active collaboration.
A private channel and a network directory: who is in, what they work on, which models they run. Partners reach each other without going through us.
Acquisition protocols, analysis pipelines and, where partners agree to share them, annotated datasets.
A network of laboratories running the same instrument is a multi-centre study waiting to happen. We introduce the groups and support the work.
Partners hear about new devices and new cohorts before anyone else, and can join later calls on other tracks.
We publish and amplify the work our partners do with the technology, naming the laboratory and the people in it.
The Research Partnership Agreement
Every collaboration is also governed by a Research Partnership Agreement covering data ownership, intellectual property, confidentiality, shipping and insurance, and what happens to the device when the collaboration ends. We send it before any commitment.
